Spreadsheets are the perfect way to organize numerical information. They are easy and efficient to use. Spreadsheets also known as worksheets organize information in cell numbers that they get from a column and row setup. Not only can you organize your numbers, but you can also add them with a click of the mouse. There are many options when using spreadsheets that teachers and students can benefit from.
My students love to use spreadsheets. We use them during a big economic unit and the kids just love it. Students virtually create a store where they set the cost of the item and have to keep track of how many items they sell and how much money they earn. It is a wonderful real world experience for the students and the parents love it too.
Spreadsheets are a wonderful and motivating way to get students to learn. I like to use them in a culminating way. I have the students calculate the numbers before they actually put them into the spreadsheet and use it a check. It is an overall great learning experience.
